Is the speed changer free?
Yes. Changing the speed costs nothing, there is no watermark and no signup.
Does changing speed change the pitch?
No. This tool preserves the original pitch, so a slowed track does not sound deeper and a sped-up track does not sound like a chipmunk.
Will 2x speed sound robotic?
Speech stays clear and natural through roughly 2x. Push much beyond that and words start to run together — for study and transcription, 1.25x to 1.75x is the sweet spot.
What speed is best for studying a recording?
Most people follow a lecture comfortably at 1.25x to 1.5x. To transcribe or learn a tricky passage, slow it to 0.5x to 0.75x so every word is easy to catch.
Can I change several files at once?
