What is an extreme bass boost?
It is the heaviest low-end boost this tool offers — a big lift to the bass band for maximum weight and thump. This preset sets it automatically.

Will an extreme boost distort my audio?
Every boost runs through a limiter that holds the peaks just under the maximum, so it will not hard-distort into a crackle. On small phone speakers an extreme low end can still sound muddy — ease the level if so.
Does it work on earbuds and phone speakers?
Tiny speakers cannot reproduce the deepest bass, so an extreme boost is most at home on headphones, car systems and subwoofers. On earbuds, switch the band to Punch for the most audible result.
Why is my file a little quieter after boosting?
Adding heavy bass raises the loudest peaks, so the limiter pulls the overall level down a touch to keep it clip-safe. Turn your playback up, or run it through the volume booster afterwards.
Will it damage my speakers?
At sensible volumes, no. Deep bass takes more power, so an extreme boost played very loud works small or old speakers harder — keep the volume reasonable and there is nothing to worry about.
